Santa in Town
Monday 30th November 2009, 2:29PM GMT.
SANTA CLAUS came to Town on Saturday – and stopped the rain.
The bearded man in the red suit paid a whistle-stop visit to switch on the Christmas lights.
He swapped his sleigh for the St Peter Port lifeboat and arrived in style near the Guernsey Yacht Club at 4pm, before joining parade characters including Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Postman Pat, Mary Poppins, Shrek and Puss in Boots.
They all paraded to the Town Church, although the rain continued to fall.
But, like magic, it stopped about 10 minutes before they reached the waiting crowd in Church Square.
