13th Winter Wonderland

THOUSANDS of islanders braved the wind and rain to enjoy the 13th Winter Wonderland.

Hundreds of lights, metres of cable and dozens of volunteers transformed Peter Bachmann’s St Saviour’s garden for the festive season.

This year Mr Bachmann had added Santa out in a rowing boat and many new lights.

The event helped to raise money for Cancer Research UK Guernsey and the local Lions Club.

Event organiser Hedley Watson said the event had been a huge success.

‘We have sold in the region of 3,000 tickets,’ he said.

‘Last year we raised £9,500, and we are hoping we will get even more this year.’
