GTA report to be delivered in time for Christmas
Thursday 3rd December 2009, 2:29PM GMT.

CONSULTANTS will deliver a report to Commerce and Employment just before Christmas that could have major implications for the Guernsey Training Agency.
In August, the department announced it was commissioning a review of Guernsey’s ‘work-related learning and training provision’.
It included considering whether the £435,000 it contributed to the agency’s budget represented value for money.
This year, that money represented a third of the GTA’s budget.
Leading figures in the business community said at the time that it would be disastrous for the island if the agency’s funding was cut.
A spokesman for the department confirmed yesterday that consultant Frontier Economics would report its findings on 23 December.
‘The review is running according to schedule,’ the department said.
‘The company appointed to carry out the review, Frontier Economics, has consulted extensively over the last six weeks with the Guernsey Training Agency and the College of Further Education’s Guernsey Business School as well as a number of private sector training providers.’
