Million-pound taxi driver escapes as cab is crushed
Friday 4th December 2009, 2:30PM GMT.
LUCKY cabbie Mark ‘Tiny’ Walters escaped with minor whiplash injuries yesterday when his taxi was crushed by a driverless, laden cement mixer that rolled out of a driveway and slammed it against a wall.
Mr Walters is understood to have been driving his six-passenger Ford Galaxy from King’s Road down Les Croutes towards Route Isabelle when the collision occurred just past the junction with Belmont Road at about 1.50pm.
The cement mixer collided with the driver’s side of the vehicle.
Mr Walters (pictured), who was a member of the taxi driver syndicate which won Valentine’s Day’s Les Bourgs Hospice million pound draw, did not wish to comment.
