Russian beats Watson

HEATHER WATSON is out of the Eddie Herr Classic in Florida.
The top seed lost her third round match to the No. 13 seed, Russian Polina Leykina, 7-6, 6-4.
But the Guernsey girl is still going strong in the doubles where she and Poland’s Magda Linette have won twice to reach the quarter-finals.
In round two yesterday they beat a Romanian pair 7-5, 6-3.
The Eddie Herr Classic has been full of surprises with the No. 2 seed, Croatian Silvia Nijric, also failing to reach the latter stages.
