Orange Bowl test for Heather

Heather WatsonTODAY the world’s top junior tennis players, including Heather Watson, are set to compete in the 2009 Dunlop Orange Bowl in Florida.

Watson is seeded three and has been drawn against wildcard Krista Hardebeck from USA in the first round.

The Grade A event is a premiere international tournament and the last as players in the race for the year-end world number one ranking slot and the title of ITF world junior champion.

Played on hard courts in Key Biscayne, Watson was seeded eight last year and fell in the second round, This time around she hopes to make it at least as far as the semi-finals.

Junior world number one Kristina Mladenovic of France and a potential opponent for the Guernsey girl in the semi-finals.

Timea Babos from Hungary and junior world number three is seeded number two.
