DEPUTIES frustrated by the lack of progress in addressing failings in how the States is run want to force the Public Accounts Committee to act.

A requete has been submitted which could be debated as soon as next month.

A Wales Audit Office report published in September found that the States failed to meet any of the six principles of good governance.

The requete, led by Matt Fallaize, directs the PAC to report back during 2010 with recommendations for improving corporate governance arrangements.

Crucially, it says that should be done within the current consensus system.

‘It’s been three months since the report was published, nearly a year since it was commissioned, and I think it’s quite clear that PAC has been in some doubt over what to do next,’ said Deputy Fallaize (pictured).
