Bomb plot uncovered at Les Nicolles Prison

Friday 11th December 2009, 2:30PM GMT.

An officer from the UK has been brought in to lead the investigation after bottles and petrol were discovered hidden on a wing at Les Nicolles.

Home minister Geoff Mahy this morning said they were not taking any chances.

‘This is worrying,’ he said. ‘Some prisoners were doing something with petrol and we are investigating.’

Prison governor Terry Wright, pictured, said the materials were found by his staff during a routine security search.
