Top States wage negotiator suspended on full pay
Tuesday 15th December 2009, 2:30PM GMT.
THE States’ pay body’s chief negotiator has been suspended on full pay.

The Airport Firefighters' Tribunal began at Les Cotils yesterday. (0889196)
News of Steve Naftel’s suspension broke as a tribunal began yesterday into the circumstances surrounding industrial action taken by airport firefighters in May.
Despite him having been heavily involved in negotiations with the firefighters, however, it is understood that Mr Naftel’s suspension had nothing directly to do with the dispute.
States human resources manager Simon Elliott said he could not comment on staff matters. However, as Mr Naftel’s immediate superior, it is assumed Mr Elliott issued the suspension order, possibly after a disagreement between the two men.
Public Sector Remuneration Committee chairman Deputy Allister Langlois said it was a matter for management within the civil service and not a political one.
Mr Naftel declined to comment.

Sounds like another Neale v Stephens tribunal coming up.
Is this the same Elliot who solved the firefighters dispute by claiming that the £4000pp payment was not remuneration?
