Locals learning from one of England’s elite
Wednesday 16th December 2009, 2:29PM GMT.
ENGLAND star Tamsin Greenway (pictured) is in the island to put local netballers through their paces.
The 27-year-old took the Ladies’ College Year 7s, 8s and 9s yesterday morning before working with the Guernsey Under-19s in the evening.
Tonight she is running a senior island side coaching session.
Greenway’s trip was organised by the Ladies’ College head of PE, Helen Bailey.
‘The girls have worked really, really hard all term and it was good to reward them,’ said Bailey.
‘We’ve spent a lot of time raising the standard of hockey and we felt it was time to raise the standard and profile of netball.
‘It was really good for the girls to have different instructors and it can only inspire them.’
