Tony’s Herts test

A GUERNSEY and Jersey final in the FA Carlsberg National League System Cup is still on the cards after the Greens were drawn to face Hertfordshire Senior County League in the quarter-finals.
Tony Vance’s island side are playing under the banner of the Guernsey Senior County League in the competition.
There was the chance that they could have met Jersey, playing as the Jersey Football Combination League, but they are meeting Dorset Premier League in the last eight.
However, Vance (pictured) is not thinking about the possibility of his team meeting the ‘old enemy’ in the final.
‘I suppose everyone is looking at a Guernsey and Jersey final and it’s a cliche, but we’ve got to look at the game in front of us,’ he said.
‘I’m sure both Jersey and us are pleased that we’ve avoided each other because it’s an opportunity to play different opposition. Being in the last eight means there’s no easy games.’
