Bowie picks up club’s main award

THE Guernsey Triathlon Club Christmas Splash and Dash Aquathon will take place on Sunday at Beau Sejour.
Racing will start at 3.30pm and there will be a senior and junior section.
Seniors, comprising 14-year-olds and over, will swim 16 lengths followed by running two laps of Cambridge Park.
Juniors, consisting of 8 to 13-year-olds, will swim eight lengths and run one lap.
Registration will take place at 3pm and non-members of all abilities are welcome, with mince pies for all at the finish.
The club, who are sponsored by De Putron Fund Management (Guernsey) Limited, marked the end of the 2009 season with an awards presentation.
The main award for performance of the year went to Karina Bowie (pictured) for her Granite Man efforts where she was first woman home and sixth overall in a time of 4hr 40min.
