GUERNSEY will see in the new year from on top of London Two South-West should they beat the league leaders tomorrow.
However, the Greens are without several key personnel as they travel to table-toppers Tottonians, a team who won at Foote’s Lane back in September.
Among the absentees are James Regnard, Jim Elliott, Jason Batiste and South African duo Divon Crouse and Greg Bibby.
Captain Simon Sharrott admitted that the number of regulars unavailable has made for ‘a headache in the team’s selection process’.
He does, though, remain optimistic that the XV who take to the park can maintain the momentum of two convincing back-to-back victories.
‘Although the team looks slightly different from last week’s, we are still more than confident in the players we are taking and this is a great opportunity for them to show Jordan [Reynolds, the coach] what they are made of,’ Sharrott said.
‘And I will be asking the senior players to bind the team together from the very outset of the game. This will be done by being abrasive in defence, arrogant in attack and nothing less.’
