Fastest woman up ‘the Terres’ just got quicker

The fastest female up Le Val des Terres broke her own personal best for the hill in terrific style on the last day of August, but has designs on going even faster next year.

‘I’m really happy,’ she said of her 32.31sec.

‘Ricky [Le Cheminant] and dad put a new engine into the car in the winter and this is my first ‘clubbie’ this year.’ She had not counted the national when it poured down anyway.

‘The conditions were ideal today, really bone dry and it’s helpful you know from practice that you can push it.’

By the day’s end she had stripped her own record by four hundredths and with it ended her season promising to be back next year for a crack at the overall class record and a sub-32 time.
