FRESH from being on the receiving end of the season’s first Image Group Premier Division whitewash, North Legionnaires redressed the balance in the best possible way by delivering one of their own.

DWA Mavericks were the victims on this occasion and although they prop up the rest of the division, they had always previously managed to pick up at least a frame. This time though, the two close frames on offer both went to the Legionnaires, leaving Mavericks firmly rooted at the foot of the table.

Rick de Garis and Adrian Holley started the rout with the former’s second frame black ball decider against Scott Rowe being the first of the two that the Mavericks missed out on.

But it was Holley’s second frame that was arguably the highlight of the night, when Dave Gilmour came in with an early break of 34. The response from Holley was more than a match though, as efforts of 31 and 30 brought a 73-34 victory.

Shaun Mahy’s first 3-0 win of the season continued the Legionnaires’ relentless march that was duly completed by Tom Brock.
