Santa Fun Run
Tuesday 22nd December 2009, 4:02PM GMT.
WHAT better way is there to get into the Christmas spirit than taking part in the annual Santa Fun Run?
All 400 or so participants could not think of a better one.
The hugely popular event is now in its fifth year and just keeps getting bigger and better.
The entry for yesterday’s event was double last year’s as families, friends and workmates turned up at Pembroke to join in the fun. The route took them to the Halfway and along the seafront to the Town Church. Younger participants set out from Bulwer Avenue.
And for the first time, a group of motorcycle-riding Santas took part.
Money raised from the run will go to Aid Reaching Children for the charity’s projects in Sri Lanka. But some of the proceeds will also go to the Vale School’s climbing frame appeal.
