Title is just too close to call

markletissier.jpgTHE chase for the Division One title looks destined to come down to a ‘fantastic fortnight’ when the three title-chasing teams all meet each other.

The first match of the three crunch ties is on Saturday 27 February when St Martin’s take on league leaders Bels, who then play North a week later.

Then, on Saturday 13 March, reigning champions North entertain Saints.

With third placed Saints getting the better of Bels at the weekend, now only six points separate the top three sides.

However, Saints have only played eight matches, while Bels have 10 and North have nine.

Before the season began, the Guernsey Football Association chairman Mark Le Tissier (pictured) predicted the league was going to be tight and he has seen nothing to alter his opinion.

At the halfway stage of the season, he still cannot predict who would actually win.
