Women feel safe in local cabs despite alleged rape by driver

WOMEN in Guernsey do feel safe in taxis – despite recent reports of an alleged rape by a driver.
Marina Le Gallez, 20, a trust relationship manager, said she generally shared taxis but had occasionally taken one on her own.
‘I have never felt particularly that my safety was in jeopardy,’ she said.
Miss Le Gallez said it was a good idea to build up a rapport with a regular driver.
‘I have a few cab numbers in my phone that I always use, but I would say getting a taxi from the rank is just as safe,’ she said.
She said it was important not to just to conclusions.
‘You can also help yourself by getting into such a state,’ she said.
