IT ISN’T normally lucky to have a fence down in competition, but Sophie Dyer can claim to be an exception to the rule.

Riding her pony Alfie, she was fortunate to have jump number one down in the accumulator with joker, as there was not a maximum score recorded so only one point was taken off the maximum to leave her on 66 points.

Sophie Parker, riding Steely Dancer, had jump number nine down and it left them with 58 points. A fired up Rock Steady Teddy and Hannah Kershaw had 55 points for third place.

Dyer went on to have two more wins, this time riding Bella and one of these was in the Alternative Risk Management’s 128cm qualifier when she just pipped Vanessa Brown riding Lulu.

The wind certainly got under Rock Steady Teddy’s tail.

Normally very steady, he found Hannah Kershaw another gear and they stormed around to have the only clear round in the jump-off in the Wellanier Motors Alternative Qualifier and Parker, riding Steely Dancer, was very happy to settle for second place for the second time that day.
