Young blames his exit on committee
Wednesday 30th December 2009, 2:30PM GMT.
CRAIG YOUNG has labelled the North committee a ‘shambles’ as he becomes the third player in a week to leave the club.
The 2008 players’ player of the year has put in a transfer form to go to Bels.
His departure follows fellow island star Glyn Dyer and Kieran Mahon, who both signed for St Martin’s just before Christmas.
All three have blamed the North hierarchy for why they left.
Young, 23 (pictured), pulled no punches.
‘Everyone thinks that they are an absolute shambles,’ he said. ‘There’s nothing that goes right. There’s a lot of problems at North. I’ve been there 12 years and it gets worse year by year.
‘Nothing keeps them [the players] there. No one particularly enjoys it. It’s just we’ve been there so long.’
North’s president Dave Finn said he was disappointed by the three players’ criticism of the hierarchy.
