The self styled ‘Guernsey’s alternative club’ had always been something of the whipping boys in the Jersey Rugby Association League.
But the last few years have seen a revolution at the KGV outfit.
They are currently third in the JRA table, just two points behind leaders United Banks – and with a game in hand.
Tomorrow in Jersey they face Banks, who they defeated for the first time in the league in more than 20 years earlier on in the season, in the first round of the cup.
‘We’re hoping for a decent cup run,’ said Saints stalwart Tim Pond.
‘We beat Banks for the first time in years but they are going to be bolstered by their university kids coming back. We’re pretty confident.
‘We had a good training session on Wednesday evening.’
