North 2, Rangers 3
MICK LE PREVOST is having just no luck at the moment.
The under-fire North boss has had to watch three of his best players – Glyn Dyer, Craig Young and Kieran Mahon – leave in the last couple of weeks.
All three said that the club was going downhill and blamed North’s hierarchy for the demise.
Yesterday, Le Prevost witnessed North come from 2-0 down to level things in the second half of their Clydesdale International FA Cup quarter-final match against a strong Rangers side before being sucker-punched in the last five minutes.
Any neutral watching the game would have said that North deserved something out of it for the way they played in the final 45 minutes.
Le Prevost certainly felt they did.
‘I’m gobsmacked. How did we lose that game?’ he said afterwards.
‘We were by far the better team in the second half. We had some chances to win it, but that’s football.
‘I feel sorry for the players. They were so up for the game. I’ve got nothing but praise for these players.’
