Chuffed Chris one off ‘Mecca’

A LOCAL tenpin bowler was one point off ‘Mecca’, but he is not disappointed.
Chris Bellinger (pictured) recently turned out for his Linesmen team in the Sunday night Trios’ League.
And the 64-year-old finance worker had an evening of bowling to remember as he threw a three-game score of 799 and in the process smashed the island record.
‘It was nice as some of the youngsters who have got 300 games were there cheering me on to get an 800 series,’ he said. ‘That’s the Mecca.
‘I’m not disappointed at all. I was chuffed to have a good night.’
Bellinger threw 246 in the first game, which he followed up with 287 and 266 in the next two.
He notched up a staggering 27 strikes.
In the second game he had 10 in a row and 12 would have given him a 300 maximum.
