Wave deal to buy ISP is finalised

Thursday 7th January 2010, 2:30PM GMT.

Tim RingsdoreWAVE TELECOM has completed its purchase of Newtel Guernsey.

The deal, for an undisclosed sum, was announced in August, but it took until mid-December to receive the necessary regulatory approval for the acquisition to be completed.

The official handover took place on 31 December.

No jobs have been lost in the change and Wave managing director Tim Ringsdore (pictured) said the deal made excellent strategic sense.

‘It allows us to combine Wave’s market-leading mobile services with Newtel’s strong position in the residential broadband and business services markets.

‘It is great news for Guernsey customers as we will be able to combine the best elements of all services and offer even greater value for money.’
