IT WAS a case of deja vu as Marcwell Island Team squash League first-cycle champions Pulp Friction opened their second-cycle account with a 4-1 win over Specsavers.

At number one Ross Kneller overcame Steve Falla 3-1 in a lacklustre affair, neither player wanting to work too hard to win points.

Age and treachery overcame skill and youth at number two as Mark Sheppard won 3-0 against Matt Robilliard, while at third string Gary Rich and Shane Cotter played out a 3-1 game evidencing that it was a good Christmas for both.

At number four Mick Cotter was in the game of the night beating Matt Robin 3-2, despite giving away 51 years to his opponent.

In the other rubber, Andrea Nightingale was too strong for Amy Stenner and her extra experience came through in a 3-0 victory to Pulp.

Despite missing number one player Andy May, Bourse started the new cycle well with a 4-1 win over KPMG.

KPMG put up a good fight with only one straight victory for Bourse as Sally Ingrouille controlling Charlotte Koller from the start.
