ISLANDERS flocked to Gandey’s circus on its last day in Guernsey.

The weather warmed up significantly yesterday and, with the roads clear again, queues were soon forming outside the box office.

Ringmaster Binky Beaumont said the last two performances were exceptional.

‘We’ve sold over 500 tickets already and people have been queuing up in their droves.

‘Yesterday we were battling with the weather all day. With the wind chill factor we had the heaters going from 8am,’ he said.

Saturday had seen between 60 and 70% of the 800 seats filled.

‘The evening shows were quiet but people have loved it,’ said Mr Beaumont.
