Garland claims 400m. silver

DALE GARLAND opened his 2010 campaign by claiming a silver medal over 400m at the South of England Championships at Lee Valley in London.
He finished runner-up to Nigel Levine, of the Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow club.
Levine clocked 48.10 to Garland’s 48.29.
The Guernseyman said he was pleased to have beaten the highly-rated Nick Leavey.
Fellow GIAAC 400 men Hywel Robinson and Nathan Stevens were at the same meeting and made the semi-finals with best times of 51.44 and 51.80 respectively.
Tom Druce, however, did not race as expected and sprint hurdler Glenn Etherington was left without a race when the Cardiff indoor meeting was cancelled.
