A PUPIL from Notre Dame du Rosaire played Good Samaritan to a pensioner who was at risk of falling on an icy hill.

After school on Tuesday Charlotte Le Noury, 9, was walking down Burnt Lane towards Vauvert, where her mum was to pick her up.

‘I was playing with my friends when I saw this man coming the other way and I told them to get out of the way and let him through,’ she said.

Retired schoolteacher Alan Cross, 65, was losing his footing on the slippery surface.

‘I told him I didn’t think it was safe to carry on walking up and suggested he go back down and I took his arm and helped him to the bottom,’ said Charlotte.

Mr Cross was so grateful that the next day he took a letter of thanks to the school’s head teacher, Peter McGovern, and handed over a cheque for the school for £50.

Sadly Ray you’re right…although the school could always give the young lady at least part of the reward for her courtesy.

Maybe hero of the hour HMV will reward Charlotte with a video nasty or even something more appropriate for her age.

Well done Charlotte you are a brave and kind girl and I hope you will inspire others to act as decently as you did.
