Rowe shines in top race
Tuesday 19th January 2010, 2:29PM GMT.
KATIE ROWE has again showed herself to be among the top runners of her age.
The 2009 Hampshire under-13 champion reproduced her pre-Christmas form in finishing second in the Liverpool stage of the McCain UK Cross Challenge, by again placing runner-up in Cardiff on Sunday.
Rowe, who has another year in the age-group, was pipped by Birtley’s Lydia Turner in a desperate sprint finish, only one second separating them on the clock. There were 104 finishers.
At the same meeting Katie’s father, veteran Alan, placed 28th in the senior men’s race, 58sec. behind fellow islander Steve Dawes, who was 22nd.
