NORTH will meet St Martin’s in the final of the Normandie Cup after they came through two very different semi-finals.
North had a comfortable 5-1 win over Sylvans at Northfield on Monday evening while at the same time at very foggy Blanche Pierre Lane, Saints certainly had a more testing time as they just overcame a spirited Vale Rec 4-3.
Saints president Henry Davey was an interested spectator at the game and he was very complimentary about the two under-16 sides as well as the match official Kevin Wakeham.
‘It was a credit to both teams and to the referee for getting the game completed,’ he said.
‘At times you couldn’t see the far corner flag. He could have taken the easy option and called it off.
‘But instead it was an excellent game of football.’
