‘Recovery will surprise on upside’

PREDICTIONS for the global economy were laid out to finance professionals at a recent Spearpoint investment forum.
The event, which attracted more than 70 delegates, saw Spearpoint’s chief investment officer Kevin Boscher and head of fixed income Mark Despres outline their forecasts for the year ahead.
These included 2010 seeing a recovery that would surprise on the upside, that the path of the dollar would be key and that the outlook for inflation and interest rates was benign for the G7.
Current forecasts were also pessimistic in an historical context.
‘The Armageddon scenario has slowly unwound since March last year,’ said Mr Boscher (pictured).
