Scott’s shock
Thursday 21st January 2010, 2:29PM GMT.
FOR the first time in six years Adam Shorto will not feature in the Island Championship final after Muratti footballer Scott Bradford sensationally knocked him out in the last 16.
Since the mid-2000s it had become one of the most common sights in local sport to see the Guernsey’s two top cueists Martyn Desperques and Shorto in the showpiece snooker occasion.
But Shorto, who has won the tournament three times, will not be there this year after Bradford, pictured, defeated him 3-0 at the Ex-Service Club.
Bradford has only really started to take his snooker seriously this season.
‘I’m absolutely delighted with the result. To beat him is an achievement in itself, but to beat him 3-0 was unbelievable,’ he said.
