Steele: ‘I do have the cash to buy Bluebirds’

GUERNSEY-based property developer Ben Steele has strongly denied claims that he does not have the money to buy Cardiff City Football Club.
Cardiff’s online forums have been buzzing about Mr Steele since he announced at the end of last week that he was interested in purchasing the financially stricken Championship club.
The 32-year-old (pictured), who made his millions in selling cars before moving into property, said he was looking to invest around £40m.
But questions have been raised as to whether he can afford it.
‘I’ve got enough cash in the bank to buy this club,’ said Mr Steele yesterday.
‘ I just don’t give off a lot of wealth.’
The Cardiffcityonline forum has discussion threads titled ‘Who is Ben Steele?’ and ‘Is Ben Steele rich enough to take over our club?’ in which Mr Steele has come in for intense criticism.
It has been bandied about that Mr Steele said he was worth £200m.

If Mr Ben Steele was any genuine contender and serious about the purchase he would have went ahead with the deal without drawing any attention towards himself or what is on offer.
If he is reading this then my advice is get on with it. If you have that kind of money?
Don’t offer hope when it will only add further to the complications that the club are currently suffering.
This will turn into a sorry story of the club not stacking up correctly at the due diligence stage of the game.
But what a boost to his profile!

Agree with Morg Maggs, anyone who knows their football knows that Cardiff clearly has huge potential. Whoever has the the cash to take that club forward, could make them into a truly big club.

Don’t hold your breath. Ben Steele likes to big up his ego & profile by making claims & promises. Rarely does he keep any of them.
Why he feels the need to pull stunts like this only he can say. Well what’s the latest then Ben?
