THE OSA Recruitment Leagues started well after the festive break with not too many mince pie induced cramps slowing down proceedings.

In the Women’s League, NashCopy brought in the new year with a convincing win over club team Gestetner.

Fierce serving from player of the match Sarah Biggins was just too much for Gestetner to handle and they struggled to form any attacking pressure on NashCopy.

Another run of serving from recently engaged Carla Martel finished them off and they took the first set in an impressive 13 minutes.

The second was a lot closer with Gestetner’s player of the match Kat Gillespie keeping them in the game with her serving.

Julia Webber worked hard at the net for NashCopy, dominating her area to full effect.

At 11-11 NashCopy pulled away with some fluid movement around the court.

The third set was a much more relaxed affair, with coach Rod Elmy implementing the new ‘boomshakalaka’ move, which proved to be very effective.
