ROVERS have gone to extraordinary lengths to get their match with Athletics played today.

The seemingly constant bad weather that has hit the island forweeks has seen the Division One game moved from a sodden KGV to Port Soif.

But Rovers’ ground itself is now under water.

In a desperate bid to get the fixture played, the westcoasters have the employed the use of two industrial sump pumps.

The club already own one and they have hired the other machine.

‘They’re working a treat,’ said Rovers executive committee member Paul Porter yesterday.

Rovers have also been using their cricket super soaker to try and absorb the excess surface water.
