CHRIS SIMPSON suffered an agonising extra-points defeat in a five-set thriller of a semi-final at the Bankers Hall Pro-Am event in Calgary, Canada.

The Sarnian, who was the number two seed, went down 11-5, 9-11, 11-4, 8-11, 13-11 to defending champion Arturo Salazar of Mexico.
