Judges named as Matt urges people to apply for Flybe Heroes bursary
Monday 25th January 2010, 2:30PM GMT.

FIVE judges have been named to choose the finalists for the Flybe Island Heroes competition.
The initiative, in association with the Guernsey Press, will see winners of three categories each awarded a bursary of £7,000.
Football legend Matt Le Tissier (pictured) will head the panel, which also comprises Guernsey Press managing director Mark Lewis, Flybe marketing manager Ian Taylor, Education minister Carol Steere and David Farrimond, chairman of the Association of Guernsey Charities.
The competition is open to anyone in the community involved in education, sport or charity.
The former England and Southampton footballer and Flybe ambassador judged the first Guernsey Island Heroes competition in 2008 and was again looking forward to seeing the entries.
‘This is a fantastic opportunity for a broad range of people and I am urging as many as possible to apply,’ he said.
The bursary will be a £3,000 cash prize and £4,000 in travel vouchers to fly anywhere on the airline’s network from Guernsey.
The judges want to hear, in less than 250 words, from anyone who knows an island sporting, education or charity hero and why their nominee deserves the bursary.
