A MAN who contested a parking ticket that was issued to his daughter at North Beach last week has seen it rescinded.
At least 60 drivers received £30 fixed penalty notices for parking in a newly-created area for small cars.
Its introduction was heavily criticised for its lack of road markings and information in general, with the Environment Department promising to improve things.
Barry Jameson, who challenged the ticket on behalf of his daughter, Lara Turner, said common sense had finally prevailed.
‘People who were warned then parked there again deserved to be booked, but Lara was never warned at all,’ he said.

I have a normal sized car so I can only park it in a standard space – fair enough. I have a motorcycle so I park that in a bike parking space which is specifically designed for bikes.
We now have these small spaces for small cars. How come the small cars can take up spaces reserved for standard vehicles – sometimes when there are empty small spaces?? I am not allowed to park my bike in a standard car space, (obviously). Nor am I allowed to park it in a small car space, (although it would fit)!
You can see what I’m banging on about here. Unfortunately my three children, building materials, garden refuse etc. will not fit into a smart car and I refuse to buy one just to come to town.

I have a solution for you. Catch the bus or even better still walk.
Maybe you take your three children, building materials and garden refuse shopping around town then?

I have a funny feeling that you are one of those Flat Earth Society members who are very much anti car ( or perhaps just anti big expensive car ? )
