Cortez quits GFA – next stop North
Tuesday 2nd February 2010, 2:30PM GMT.

ALL bets are off on who will be the next North supremo.
Garry Cortez is leaving the Guernsey Football Association and he yesterday confirmed he hoped to become the new president at Northfield.
Cortez will step down at the end of the season as GFA fixtures secretary and return to the club he served as vice-president and groundsman before taking up a role at the GFA.
The association has taken the initiative and confirmed that he is leaving but Cortez (pictured), other than to confirm his aim, has declined to comment on the issue.
And so has North’s current president, Dave Finn.
‘It’s not fair to comment while Garry is in the employment of someone else,’ said Finn yesterday.
North have had a rough few weeks, sparked by the sudden departure of island stars Glyn Dyer and Craig Young just before Christmas.

Get in there Mr Cortez and sort it out
Positive north news at last and I gather more to come
Cortez knew how Martyn Le Prevost ran the show and is the best man to turn it around and give our club some stability
I hope that the rumours about MLP being replaced by Champion are true, Corbet is not the answer as we need fresh blood, impetus and new ideas to kick off a new era at the club and hopefully bring back some of the people we have lost
Happy days at last
