Sarnian out in Sweden

CHRIS SIMPSON fell at the first hurdle as he was knocked out of the Case Swedish squash Open.
The Guernseyman lost to the more-experienced Irishman John Rooney in the first qualifying round of the PSA Tour five-star event in Linkoping.
Simpson had won the only previous meeting between the two players, but Rooney levelled their head-to-head record with an 11-8, 11-7, 11-6 victory.
The 22-year-old Sarnian now moves on to next week’s British National Championships in Manchester.
