A SPRINKLING of players with Scottish Premier League experience will feature in this weekend’s inaugural Clydesdale Bank International Tournament.

Top Scottish clubs Motherwell and Hamilton Academicals are sending over their crack under-19 sides for the event that is being held in front of the Garenne Stand at Foote’s Lane.

They will meet Senior County Division One new boys Athletics and Jersey Scottish.

The Hamilton Academical squad boast two players who have experience of the Clydesdale Bank Scottish Premier League for the Lanarkshire club.

Defender Grant Gillespie, 18, has made one appearance for the first team while 19-year-old Irish midfielder John Sullivan was in the squad that drew 0-0 with Kilmarnock on Boxing Day.

While the Accies are currently propping up the Scottish Premier League, their U19s are third in their league behind heavyweights Celtic and Rangers.

Accies’ academy director Frankie McAvoy is expecting his players to have a beneficial experience this weekend.
