Neighbours face 5 noisy months if quarry extension goes ahead

Ronez wants to extend quarrying into 11 acres to the west.
The area is currently used to graze cattle.
The environmental impact assessment said that nearby homes such as Les Quatre Vents and Dolphin Retreat would experience more than the daytime limit for noise during a temporary work period of 20 weeks.
During that time topsoil and overburden would be removed to reveal the stone that Ronez wants.
The overburden could be used to create screening mounds at the top of the quarry.
Mike Bairds, who lives in Les Quatre Vents with his wife Mary, said the extension was not a problem, although the quarry had been an issue years ago.
‘My only concern is noise and vibration, anything that is likely to damage the property.
‘Ronez are good neighbours,’ he said.
