‘Visual feast’ has three years’ funding

LOCAL photographers will be able to have their work showcased with world-renowned professionals at the Guernsey Photography Festival, which runs from 1 to 29 May.
The event was launched last night by director Jean-Christophe Godet (pictured), from the newly-formed Guernsey Committee for the Festival of Photography.
He hoped that this would be the first in a series of events and had – subject to this year being a success – already secured sponsorship for three years from Generali Worldwide and PPF Partners.
‘We don’t want to create something a little bit isolated,’ he said.
‘It’s important for us to create a visual feast – to stimulate, inspire and encourage the people of Guernsey to take part.’
The festival will run throughout May and has based this year’s theme – invasion, occupation, liberation and celebration – on the 65th anniversary of the Liberation.
