Blue Islands pulls Bristol bid over financial disclosure
Tuesday 16th February 2010, 2:29PM GMT.
BLUE ISLANDS has withdrawn an application to fly to Bristol because it was not initially prepared to share financial information with Commerce and Employment.
The application has now formally been dismissed – but the airline will reapply.
Airline chairman Derek Coates (pictured) said: ‘The danger of course is it’s an unfortunate rejection on behalf of the travellers to Guernsey from Bristol.
‘Now there’s not the opportunity for evening flights.
‘The reason for our rejection is that we were unwilling to give confidential information. But we have now decided to produce that and will now be reapplying with full information.’

Unfortunate indeed.
Aurginy’s midday slot and ad-hoc winter timetable means I currently to fly to Southampton and take a train to Bristol.
More convenient flight times, more visitors and more trade?

As a family we used to use the link to Bristol on a regular basis to visit friends and family and to shop for the day in Bristol and Bath. Now we too use Southampton and drive or use the train to get to the west country. One flight a day at midday means staying for 2 nights to get a full day in the UK- simply not worth it!

Maybe Blue Island should come up with a route of their own? Oh wait they did: Cardiff Oxford Paris Dublin. All failed in a very short space of time. Infact dublin never got going!
