Deputies accuse PAC chairman of contempt
Tuesday 16th February 2010, 2:29PM GMT.
PUBLIC Accounts Committee chairman Leon Gallienne ‘showed contempt’ for the States when he refused to take part in a debate but answered questions from the media, according to deputies who want him removed from the position.
A special Billet d’Etat is released today detailing the reasons why a vote of no confidence is being brought against Deputy Gallienne and the rest of the PAC.
Deputy Graham Guille (pictured) orchestrated the motion that will be debated at the end of the month – seven other States members also signed the petition.
The call for PAC’s resignation came after all its members refused to take part in last month’s debate about their work on the Wales Audit Office report, commissioned to find out Guernsey’s level of good governance.
Deputy Guille and his supporters claimed this meant PAC had refused to submit itself to ‘appropriate scrutiny’ by the States.
‘In particular, by refusing to participate in the debate, the committee failed to give satisfactory account in respect of the public funds in their charge, both in relation to amounts expended so far on this project and any further sums yet to be spent,’ they said in the Billet.

Voice For Victims
Voice for Victims is a campaign aimed at promoting the rights of those affected by child sexual abuse.
Why is Graham Guille and his fellow lemmings concerned. It must be they are worried about the PAC raising some subject that concerns them.
Leon for all his faults is the only states member that i can think of that has not forgotten his roots.
I would put my trust in Deputy Gallienne a forthright Guernseyman, long before Mr. Guille and his pandering six or seven.

Looking down the list of signatories are you surprised?
Half of them are desparate for a job as they are not only unemployable but unemployed in the States – desparate for a job and having staggeringly high expectations that dont meet thier ability.
They are contemptible. Shame on them.
