GREMLIN Galacticos made little headway into La Villette Gremlins’ lead in the Image Group Premier snooker Division ahead of their penultimate league meeting.
It has been four matches since the defending champions managed double figures, but an 11-1 win against North Social L-Plates put an end to that tiny blip.
Against the L-Plates the Galacticos turned to the all left-hand opening partnership of Glenn Le Prevost and Adam Shorto that has typically served them well. And they didn’t disappoint this time around either, with Le Prevost inflicting a first blank of the season on Darren Hughes and Shorto making two 30-plus breaks and a 41 clearance in racking up 123 points in his first frame.
The second half saw the Galacticos pile on the frames, with Adrian Lihou making a fine 54 break in restricting Milford de Carteret to a total of 50 points.
Paul Le Sauvage was equally miserly until the last frame of the night when a first whitewash win of the season beckoned.
Ross de Carteret ended the Galacticos hopes of a much needed full house with a nicely constructed break of 38 to win the final frame 72-8.
A 9-3 victory for La Villette Gremlins over North Legionnaires means their lead has been cut by two points, but is a healthy one of 16 points nonetheless.
