BEAU SEJOUR’S half-term streetdance workshops kicked off yesterday.

Fifty-two youngsters in two age groups – six to 10 and 11 to 14 – were put through their paces in various energetic routines, taking their lead from instructor John Pemberton.

The initiative will culminate in a show on Saturday to display participants’ new skills.

Mr Pemberton, who owns and runs UK academy Dynamite Dance and has worked with acts including Kylie, Robbie Williams and Girls Aloud, said the first day had gone really well.

‘It has been very, very good,’ he said. ‘The morning class – ages six to 10 – picked up the routine very quickly. I was really impressed.

‘I am also really glad to see a lot of boys here as well.’

Mr Pemberton has been dancing professionally for 15 years and takes his academy up and down the country sharing the techniques of his trade with all age groups.
