THREE promising Guernsey Tennis Club juniors have enjoyed considerable success at four different events in the UK and Jersey.

The first event was an Under-10 Mixed Mini Green matchplay in Jersey and Milly Wood travelled as Guernsey’s only representative.

She played five matches, winning three of them, and was particularly pleased to beat Eleanor Johnson her friend and rival, which always turns out to be a close one. The Sarnian won 4-2 this time and was serving well.

Jack Oldfield travelled to the UK to take part in two grade-four under-12 winter county events in Hampshire and Surrey and comfortably won them both without dropping a set and losing only seven games in 12 sets.

On Sunday in Jersey another under-12 winter county event was being held and Max Galins, who still has another year in this age group, travelled over with the main aim of gaining more match experience.
