ELLIE REGNARD came close to being a double winner at the recent La Carriere Stables Winter Jumping Championships.
It was Carmel Turian who just pipped her to the post in class two.
So hotly contested was this class that Eloise Martin Sarre’s leader fell to the ground over the finish line – they did pick themselves up and were laughing and unhurt, but it was worth it as they finished in third place.
Catherine Hall stormed around on full throttle and crossed the line in the fastest time to secure first place riding Cobweb from Turian and Molly in second.
Lydia Hardman rode with great determination and pushed Daniel over the line to third.
Anna Fazakerley showed a winning streak and made no mistakes, but just was not quite fast enough and she and Popsy gained a very good fourth place in the biggest field of the day.
