YOUNG Sam Bott (pictured) produced the outstanding ride and shock result of the ninth round of the Guernsey Motor Cycle and Car Club’s trials championship.

His efforts were the highlight on a day when the threat of snow and ice failed to appear.

The day’s sections were set in an area of scrubland below the reservoir, one section incorporating a fast flowing stream route boosted by the dam’s busy discharge.

Also sections were set on the rocky shoreline around Fort Richmond and Perelle Bay.

At every meeting of late the club is seeing increasing interest with new riders joining regularly.

Forty-one riders in all were counted at this meeting swelling the novice class to an all-time high with 14 entries in this group alone.

As this is a relatively safe motor sport, parents and siblings can both take part.
